Hi, my name is Fátima Teixeira! I was born in Portugal and I have lived in Canada and Brazil. I work as a freelancer in the areas of writing and music.
Since early I accompanied my father in his classes of solfeggio and reading of score. I quickly decided to study piano at a music conservatory. Later, I continued to work at the same time as the journalist. I was also the director of the newspaper Ad Lib founded by me at the conservatory where I was studying.
When I realized the greatest freedom of expression through music, I chose to train at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon in Music Education and Choral Direction. I have lectured and accompanied thousands of 4 students to 75 for over 10 years and performed countless number of concerts as a professional pianist.
At 2012, I decided to create the Music and Coffee blog to share my journey through a simpler and more organized life. Throughout this experience I fell in love with minimalism and began to study and explore about this philosophy of life.
I lost track of what I tore up, including the house, the responsibilities, the relationships, and everything that deflected my focus. What is my purpose in life? What are my dreams and desires?
In 2014 I went further. I selected the essentials to make my suitcase, having donated and sold everything I had acquired in Portugal. I flew to Canada! A spectacular country!
In 2016, I went to Brazil and had the opportunity to know the country where my daughter was born.
The energy and time that is gained when we focus on what we want is incalculable. I shared my experience of living without television, phone, microwave, etc. My purpose in life became very clear ...
In recent years, I have aligned my passions from writing, music and teaching to simple life and minimalism in the Master of Simplicity. In this project it is possible to have access to a vast content in text and video. I also hold workshops and coaching.
This is not about numbers: how much we have, how much we take ... but yes the right decisions, which serve perfectly for each of us ...
About the Master of Simplicity Magazine project
The Master of Simplicity has been created in order to inspire people to conquer their dreams through simplicity and minimalism.
Using the ideology that "less is more" is intended to motivate and guide all those seeking a higher quality of life, simplifying their lives and making time and space for what is really important. The benefits may also be larger and they include other income in their lives in areas such as productivity, energy, organization, management, freedom and experience, bringing more and better achievement.
Each person has different contexts experiences and therefore differing objectives. Knowing this reality, this project starts proposing to all three concepts that act as pillars of the Master of Simplicity:
- be honest with yourself in detail
- know what works for you and your life
- and implement the most rigorous way as you can
In this way, able to focus on what is essential in your life, not allowing any distraction.
This project was developed while I was pregnant and, coincidentally, I scheduled its launch on facebook for the day my baby was born (and it was not planned!).
